- Compares the claim against the policy and detects the exclusions that apply
- Consolidates the invoices and confirms the evidence is complete
- Prepares the final settlement figures
- Hands the settlement to a claims officer for approval or correction
This takes the hours of sifting and cross-checking off the desk, and it surfaces the exclusions that are easy to miss.
Actura is configured to each type of claim and reads the file as it arrives, including scans and more than one language. It is in production across medical and health, marine and specialty claims.

The claim arrives
Hundreds of pages, in the form they were sent. Actura reads scans and mixed formats without a template to prepare first.

Costs are sorted and totalled
Invoices are grouped and added up, so the total under review is clear before any judgement is made.

Each cost is checked against the cover
Every line is measured against the policy. What falls inside the cover is marked, and what falls outside is set aside.

Exclusions are flagged with the reason
Where a cost sits outside the cover, the clause behind the decision is shown next to it, so nothing is taken on trust.

The settlement is prepared
A claims officer reviews the prepared settlement and approves it. The decision is kept against that name.
Read as sent
Scanned pages, photographs of documents and more than one language are read as they arrive. There is no requirement to standardise the file before it can be worked.
